We are now recruiting applicants for two AmeriCorps positions that are available this summer on the Wabash Trace. The main task will be intensive tree trimming, but there will be other additional trail maintenance, equipment and facilities maintenance as needed. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to work outdoors on a beautiful trail!
A few things to highlight: this is a training/service opportunity, so it will not interfere with unemployment benefits if someone is receiving those. Additional support for child care may be available (contact AmeriCorps representatives). The living stipend is $3,780 for the duration of the term (which is 450 hours). An education award is also available at the end of the service term, which can be used towards existing student debt or may be applied to costs at some point in the future. If you are 55 or over, the education award can also be transferred to a child or grandchild! We have opted for a 16 week term, which means a stipend of about $473 every two weeks, with an average of 28 hours of service per week. The hours will be flexible to take into consideration weather and individual schedules. The positions will likely have a 'home base' of Malvern or Shenandoah, since that is where our equipment and vehicles are usually stored.
This would be a great position for someone furloughed, unemployed, retired, or on break from school (teacher or student). We have the flexibility to have fewer hours later in the season (just on weekends, for example) as long as the total hours are met if someone is returning to school or employment but is still interested. If you have any questions please let us know, and pass this along to anyone you think may be interested. Applicants may send a resume and brief cover letter to wabashtracenaturetrail@gmail.com.
It is the perfect blog with exceptional details. The visually stunning custom embroidered patches are the pretty embellishment that suits every apparel.
The Wabash Trace relies on the gifts and trail pass charges from these harley quinn costume jacket riders to subsidize the support of the whole path.
