Council Bluffs

Council Bluffs is the north end of the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.  Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park provides ample parking for visitors to the trail.  Connector trails to the Wabash provide access to numerous amenities in the area including food, lodging, camping and cycling shops. 

Parking: Public parking at the trail access point.
Food: A number or restaurants are close to the trailhead and accessible from the trail. 
Lodging: Yes.  Nearby motels/hotels in the Lake Manawa area.  Harrah's and Ameristar Casino/Hotels accessible by trail from the Wabash.  Approximately 5 miles ride.
Picnic Area: Covered picnic area at Iowa West Foundation Trailhead Park.  Playgound equipment is available.
Camping: Camping is available at nearby Lake Manawa State Park which is approximately 2 miles from the trailhead.  There is a connector trail from the Wabash to the park.
